Ed's Red Bore Cleaner

Thanks for sharing TD. I was very curious as to what this product really was. I like the way each ingredient is explained.

Thanks for the post Rodger ! When you leaving for that Montana Elk hunt (y)?

I made up a bunch of that stuff a few years ago when we were cleaning a BUNCH of Forrest service F&G guns at my buddies shop. It worked very well, cleaned and lubed like a charm. These guns had been used and abused, mostly used for bear guard duty 870s and 375 H&H mostly Winchester’s but a few rem 700s. Probably 60 or so. They have to be cleaned and inspected yearly by a gunsmith per regulations. I still have some that I use once in a while.

I like the Ed's Red home brew. I do not use the lanolin. I keep two containers filled...one with acetone for bore cleaning and one without acetone for general CLP.

I run my 5.56 BCG really wet with Ed's. I think it makes clean-up easier after a range day.

It's very similar to Pro-Shot's 1-Shot if you have used that.
