Following a recommendation from a local LEO, I ordered a bottle of KG-1 carbon cleaner...First impressions is that it has a pretty mild smell, very reminiscent of a powerful all purpose cleaner I've used before..(Blue Wolf, Awesome, Purple Power, etc) and it foams quite a bit when shaken, so I assume some type of surfactant is a main ingredient. Instructions say to run a saturated patch through the bore, wait two minutes and continue with wet patches until they come out clean. Mine had about 20 shots through it and after about 10 patches they started coming out clean. Pretty fast and easy and did a really good job..I put some on an AR bolt that had quite a bit of crusty carbon on the tail and let it soak for about 30 minutes and it pretty much just wiped off. It's not advertised as a copper remover, but near the end I noticed a blue tint to the patches. So far I'm impressed with it, and like that it doesn't have a strong smell or contain ammonia. I will probably keep using it....
