105 grain Berger VLD

Thanks for the report. I would think tackling elk would require a tougher bullet out of the 243. Can't argue with the steaks I guess...

It was a great report though, you hit an elk in the soft stuff and they die pretty handily..
 
For me, and I have not killed a lot of elk but a few. IMHO, this bullet Berger 105 grain in the .243 would be better suited for varmit hunting then for shooting elk. Just my opinion! I have not killed an elk with anything but .338 WM's and a .30-06, 180 grain. There was no massive trauma with these caliber bullets just normal entry and exit holes with desptroyed lungs in between.
