Ive had great luck with the Nosler 120gr Ballistic Tip from my 7x57 so I decided I would try a Sierra 120gr ProHunter and see how well that bullet worked. Here are some results.

Shot distance was 58 yards, and it was bang flop at the shot.
7x57 Winchester Featherweight
Sierra 120gr ProHunter
48grs Reloader 15
Norma Brass
Federal 210 LR Primer

Looks to have been excellent results. There isn't much that can withstand that bullet launched at reasonable velocities. Lovely rifle, BTW. The 7X57 is one of my favourite cartridges.

That worked well, better than I would have expected. Congrats on the doe.

Perfect. What is your MV?

JD, I'm not sure, I don't have a chronograph. I'm sitting about 2 full grains below book listed max

I know they group very well in my 7-08 with 43gr of H335. Tried it because I have a ton of that powder. Love FB bullets. Never tried the 120 PH on game.

Those Sierra bullets are really good for a conventional bullet, which IMO is all that's needed for any whitetail! Ive never used the 120 gr'er but I have used a few 140 gr GK's. Really good results..

The top pic is where the bullet came to rest, just under the hide!

Looks like the 140 gave good result as well as the 120. I just happened to have a ring side seat when the 120 gr was used. Dan.
