BTW - found a place for the grizzly skin - he's just draped over the footboard of the bed. Looks pretty cool there actually. It's hard to find a place for something that size - I don't know what I'd do with one of those great big coastal brown bears! They're HUGE!
Saw a Facebook post by Phil Shoemaker, his client just shot a monster of a bear... Well over 9' as I recall. Good looking bear too!

The Alaska peninsula has some huge bears. I've bumped into bears well over 10 feet.
I found a set of tracks up in Katmai my size 12 boots fit crossways in. It takes a lot of practice to judge bears, but when you see an honest 10 foot coastal Grizz, even if it's only the third bear you've seen, it causes some kind of deep rooted primordial reaction.
Pretty exciting.
