Killed this buck at 547 yards earlier in the week. Second shot was unecessary.... but when there’s private land close by, you shoot till they ain’t on their feet anymore.

Rifle was a Rem. 700 in 7mm Rem Mag wearing an SWFA SS 3-9 scope.

Both bullets exited, and damage inside was extensive.

Very nice. If I was ever asked to describe good mule deer habitat I'd just show this photo.

Nice! I keep thinking I “need” a Rem 700 CDL chambered in 7 Mag. Of course I would probably run a 7 Mashburn reamer in it.

Got any rifle pics?

That was some fine shooting at 547 yards. Congratulations of a great buck and a great shot. Yes, near private land "deader is better".

Thanks all... I’ve been pretty blessed this year.

Joel... I don’t have a great pic of the rifle in its current guise. It began as a 26” Stainless SPS that my wife got me for Christmas last year. I chopped 3” off the barrel and recrowned it at home. I bedded it a McMillan Classic that I had laying around. The SS 3-9 sits in Low Talleys. I’m running 67.5 grains of RE26 behind the 160 AccuBond for 3000 fps.

You can see the rifle in this pic....

Thanks again guys.... it’s my best deer to date.

My wife should draw the same tag next year.... I’m already looking forward to it.
