Getting ready for Christmas

Cool!

Christmas stockings hang off my old 6x6 elk rack every year... They'll be up soon.

Merry Christmas All!

Guy

Great decorations.
My house stays decorated year round somewhat but this time of year the wife cleans out the Christmas museum (aka spare bedroom) and sets up her display all over the house.
Did I mention she was a Santa Claus collector? She has some that I paid upwards to $2000 for which are hand carved and dated.

My significant other has 15 boxes of Christmas stuff. Thankfully, as much as I love Christmas, she only brought two to my house.

I guess I could say your lucky with me it is partly my fault since i encouraged her to buy them and I have bought a few for her also.
In the Christmas room the tree stays up year round with Santa ornaments and lights, Stuffed Santas from 3' to 5' tall, talking Santas and music box Santas.
In the living room there is a 6' curio cabinet full of Coke Cola collectibles and others.
Prices have ranged from $1500 for hand carved to $5.00 yard sale items.
Too many to describe and I will just say there is probably more money spent for Santas then I have in guns.
It makes her happy and that's all that matters.

Amen to that Rodger. My girl was very happy I got the lights upIMG_2671.JPG

The only thing I put up are swags which I make for the front door and a few graves to honor my deceased love ones.
Oh I for got the full sized Santas that she had made from a sheet of ply wood that I have to set up in the yard, Ha Ha always something to do to keep them happy. :)>)

Haha, that is great! (y) Reminds me of a story many years ago, my sister decided to host a Tea with some of her friends..She told my brother in law to do something with all those deer heads in the den, "they just don't look fitting for a Tea"..Later that day she escorted the ladies into the den, and much to her chagrin, he had put neck ties on all the deer..Everyone had a good laugh once she explained what was going on..

Merry Christmas from Northern Maine, keeping in the same theme of things!

Uh, you forgot to dye the pelts, Earle. :? A couple of more ribbons would have been nice.

Well I wasn't going to do this but thought some of you might enjoy these.
This isn't all of them and I could fill up another post with them from a hand painted coconut to hand painted pictures and rugs.

Rodger, does your good lady dress you up and make you stand around in red long johns and a fringed stocking cap? If not, don't tell her. For several years, some young Pinoy girls have called me Santa Claus when I buy coffee. I always tell them that I'm watching them. If they aren't nice, they'll get coal in their stockings. I was teased pretty mercilessly at an establishment yesterday because of a white beard and a belly that shook like a bowl full of jelly when I laughed. Could be worse!

DrMike thank goodness no and I won't mention it to her and besides I can't grow long facial hair.
Talking about a lump of coal, if you look at the feet of the first Hand carved Santa you will see a baseball size lump of hard coal I picked up in one of the coal mines I hauled out of when I was still working.
I gave that to here for Christmas one year in a jewelry box with a note saying it was the largest diamond in the rough I could find. :)-)
