To go along with the firearm/bow question.

What game have you hunted? I'm sure some folks here will have absolutely amazing lists.

If you want, add what's left that you'd like to hunt, someday.

Dad started me on game birds and ground squirrels:

dove
quail
pheasant - my favorite game bird
chukar were added later by me - not sure Dad ever hunted chukar
grouse

ducks of many types
geese - both Canadian and snow geese

turkey - very casually and without success at this point

various types of ground squirrel, marmots, etc... fodder for the varmint rifles

squirrel
rabbit

coyotes
wolf
bobcat - no success yet
cougar - no success yet

black bear - several via spot & stalk, all in the past ten years
grizzly - one - hunt of a lifetime!

blacktail
mule deer
whitetail deer
elk - only two

pronghorn antelope

wild hog

Someday I'd like to add African plains game: gemsbok, kudu, wildebeest, impala, springbok, warthog... AND, if my ship comes in, so to speak, Cape Buffalo.

Here in North America, I'd love to draw the tag for bighorn ram, mountain goat, moose and to hunt caribou as well. :)

How about you good folks?

Guy

Sounds as if one fortunate Hunter is planning on a South African Safari.
Buddy WE would count ourselves lucky and go out of our way to make YOU and your party feel WELCOME.

Been saving up for a long time. Am 46 and want to go before Im old or they run out of animals.

I have a very modest list but have enjoyed most of them them all my life.

Small game:
Rock chucks
Squirrel
Rabbits
Coyote
Fox
Muskrat

Birds:
Swan
Canada geese
Snow geese
Most ducks
Grouse
Dove
Quail
Pheasant
Chukar
Turkey

Big game:
Rocky Mountain elk
Mule deer
Whitetail deer
Coues deer
Pronghorn Antelope
Black Bear

Dream hunts:
Shiras Moose (should draw this very soon)
Alaskan Yukon moose
Free range bison
Caribou
Big horn sheep
Mtn goat
Kudu
Oryx
Mtn lion (should draw this very soon)

What is most relevant is that I have not hunted or killed a moose, Wolverine, mountain lion ( passed twice), white tailed deer, Coues deer, grizzly bear, polar bear, muskox, buffalo, nor any African game. Most of the rest listed here have been on my list, including one Wolf.

Guy, I honestly dont remember them all. Started hunting before I was ten in Arizona and thanks to my husband I was able to travel and hunt many different animals in many different places. So with approx 80 years of hunting behind me I will just list the ones that seem to always come to mind when I am ask. These hunts stand out in my mind and not always because of the animal hunted but the time and place and situation

One of the most unusual but enjoyed was the polar via dog sled in Nunavut ( before Cheyenne was born )
Also the sheep hunts in Canada were memorable
Brown Bear in Russia and Alaska
Coues in Arizona ( for those who have not hunted them, this can be a tough hunt and great tasting meal.)
mountain lion and Ocellated turkey in Mexico
Red Stag in New Zealand
Doves Argentina
Fox via horseback in Scotland, but also Ibex in Spain
Lion and Gemsbok in Namibia
Lord Derby in C.A.R. ( the pygmy trackers were most unusual )
pheasant Dakotas

a couple of hunts that I thought was a waste of time--water buffalo and camels in Australia

Animal I wish I could hunt, Tiger in India Maybe my next lifetime
