Being one of the ballistic tips rumored to have tougher construction, I had high hopes for this bullet. It didn't disappoint. It was found in the bottom of its 6th milk jug. There was a dent/small cut in the back of that 6th jug. Muzzle velocity should have been a shade over 2700 fps. Expansion is quite wide, with a good amount of shank and lead left intact. Retained weight is 119.3 grains. The jugs were at 20 yards.

Buddy of mine used those from his .300 Win mag, in Africa, on plains game.

He and his PH were both very impressed with their performance. He also had 180 gr Partitions, but they observed faster kills with the 180 Ballistic Tip bullets.

Hmmm that's pretty good integrity at close range. I have a box of those green tipped bad boys on the shelf. Might give them a run on the hogs next month.

Holy smokes! I use the 180 NBT from my 30/06 @ 2737fps, no wonder I have never recovered one.

Thanks for doing the test.

I've got a good friend that has taken a pile of elk and bear with a 300 WBY and the 180BT. You can't tell him there's a better bullet for that rifle.
