They look real good. I've got some old 285 grain, .375" Speer Grand Slam bullets. Ought to give them a try someday.

Very good expansion. The Grand Slam is an underrated bullet that penetrates well and does bring home game. The 175 grain Grand Slam has always performed quite well in my 7mm RM.

Many years I killed a couple of deer and an elk with them, they over preformed (disintegrated) and over 3000 fps on two deer and an elk at very close range. Speer said they were developed for 06 velocities. I went back to the Nosler PT.
A young man whom I have hunted with uses them extensively in his 06 and has great success on both elk and deer, and will not use any other bullet.

Interesting. I wonder? Are these the older style two core bullet or the "revised" Grand Slam which is just another cup and core with a thick jacket?

These are the new style

They look to have done quite well especially at that kind of speed.

Without a doubt, those look pretty danged good.

Bill has told me the story of the older GS'er coming apart but it seems like the newer ones in this instance are okay. Never have used much of the GS's but that sorta expansion and penetration is good for confidence.
