I took a relatively large black bear with the 300WSM/180AB this spring.

The range was 105 yards with the bear quartering away. The first shot impacted behind the last rib, transversed the chest cavity and exited just behind the offside shoulder.

The bear spun and took off running. A second shot missed but he ran out of gas after about 40 yards and sat back on his haunches. The third shot hit him in the neck, shattered the first vertebrae and exited in a big, nasty hole. Lights out.

No bullets recovered, no bullet jackets found, just a couple of big old nasty wound channel.

Sounds like those silly things keep knocking over animals.

Congrats on the bear!
