Today I was at the range to pattern the shotgun for turkey hunting. My shotgun performed flawlessly, however, the individual at a couple of benches away had a very nasty surprise. The best that can be deduced is that choke tube was not screwed in tight enough causing the threaded end of the choke tube to flare into the center of the bore when a shotgun shell was fired. As a result, the first few inches of the barrel back from the muzzle pealed back like a banana causing the choke tube to be thrown some distance away. A positive thing about the whole situation is that nobody was injured. The same can't be said about the Remington 870.
REMINDER, ALWAYS KEEP THE CHOKE TUBE TIGHT   :!:

Inattention to firearms and inattention to situation has destroyed more than one firearm (and shooter). Good lesson, Keith.
