Barrel Twist?

For long range shooting naval cannons can shoot over 20 miles. The coriolis effect and spin drift are accounted for in the firing solution.
My question is, why are most rifles for long range shooting usually right twist? In the northern hemisphere a left twist barrel would help offset the coriolis effect.

Bartlein has made left hand twist barrels and I believe Mark Chanlynn makes all of his barrels left hand twist. It would make more sense to use left hand twist but it hasn't really caught on.

Here is short explanation by Brian Litz

I'm trying to understand the coriolis effect, I can imagine shooting south at long range the bullet impacting to the right of POA, and when shooting west the POI would be low and right of POA and to the east the POI would be high and right of the POA. But it seems to me that when shooting to the north the POI would be to the left of the target, what am I missing?
