Woo Hoo!
Picked up a couple of hundred rounds of this stuff two weeks ago when SPS had a great sale going. Got to the range with it today, fired from a 5" 1911, and a 4.25" 1911. Sadly, I didn't bring the chronograph.
Nosler lists the velocity at 980 fps, and the recoil was notably higher, than my 900 fps 185 gr handloads. A strong "BOOM" at every shot too. Felt good. Sounded good. Bullets landed very accurately. We were shooting steel at 15 - 25 yards, and had a blast. No "groups" to report.
Initial impression is that this is quality stuff. We had no malfunctions of any kind while shooting this ammo from either gun.
It's not sold as "defensive" ammo, but I have to think that a .45 cal hollowpoint at nearly 1,000 fps, is going to hurt...
More info as I do more testing. It's fun!
