Last fall I took a ruger 77 mark II in 260 i bought new in the early 2000s and was never able to get it to shoot as well as wanted, good enough for hunting and shot several deer with it. So in a ploy to actully get the wifes permission verses forgiveness. I cut and crowned the barrel down to 17" bought a laminate compact stock from midway fit it all up, for the youngest daughter and said "damn hun i don't have a hunting rifle now, but i know where i can get a good deal on one." Took me a few more weeks of taking nice but i was finally able to order that Sako 85 black 30-06.

Anyway I loaded some reduced load for the 260 and finally got out to shoot today. I had some sako 100 gr fmj's and these 129 interlocks. The sakos didn't shoot well gave me a straight vertical 3" 4 shot group. Now the reduced loads you can see below I must say im happy and looking forward to hunting season already for her to shoot it.

Great looking little rifle. Those 129 gr Hornady bullets are doing well, looks like 33 gr H 4895. Big fan of H 4895, it must be the most versatile powder currently made. Bet that load has very mild recoil.

Great looking 260 Rem I am sure you will enjoy shooting that this coming hunting season !

Blessings,
Dan
