Well, it isn't the 257wby, 6.5wby or 264win I was thinking it would be. Came across this Mark V Range Certified 6.5-300wby Accumark. Was marked used and i thought a really good price, I can find a couple scuff marks on the barrel but no scratches anywhere, not a mark on the receiver, stock, or floor plate. still has the brass plug screws in for the scope mount. Will probably be sitting in the safe for a while until i can find ammo or primers, brass, and dies. Gives me time to decide what bullets i want to shoot.

That's a hot rod indeed. Nice looking rifle. The 142 gr ABLR would be a great choice. It should shoot flat as road kill and carry a lot of energy.
What glass are you thinking?

I'm not sure what glass yet, was actually thinking about posting "scope my...". I have a Zeiss hd5 3-15 sitting in the safe but if I remember correctly I pulled it off because I thought the crosshairs were too think. Also wondering if I want a little more magnification for reaching out there? any thoughts?
I'll probably be using this more for targets off a bench or bipod, then anything else. maybe an occasional hunt.

I've got a Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x50mm with the TMOA reticle on the 338 RUM. I can see my hits on the 800 yard gong. Just put the same scope on my wife's 30 Nosler.

Sweet. An outfitter I hunted with used one just like it. He and a few clients have used it to shoot elk out around 500. He said he used the Hornady 143 ELDx factory ammo. I saw Peterson brass and Hornady 143 ELDx components on Gunbroker. Only ammo I saw used the 127TTSX and 156 gr Good luck to you.

That’s a wicked 6.5 buddy! My little brother has a 6.5x300 as well and man, talk about a screamer.

I’d definitely want a good dialing optic on a rifle with that sort of capability. I just got a 3-18 Trijicon for my 7 Mashburn but I can’t say one way or the other on how it works yet. I’d think a 15-18x top end would be real nice.

Defiantly a hot rod. I recently was looking to add another Weatherby and I wasn’t feeling it for the 6.5 so I went with the 300 WBY.
I like at least 20-24X on the top end for target shooting.
