Quite the addition. Looks like some solid choices. Good for you.

Some I consulted Fotis about what I should get. He has never steered me wrong.

I like the choice of a .41 Mag. Always interested in that cartridge, just never did anything about it.

It's quite the performer. Excellent accuracy with power. Almost as powerful as a .44 Mag.

I have a Remington 11 very similar to your Sportsman except mine is a 12 ga but has the same style polychoke. I have recently bought three Marlin X7's, two 308's (heavy and sporter barrel) and a 30-06.

I have long been a fan of the .41 Mag and used to have a Blackhawk like that but traded it several years ago for a 4 inch Redhawk 44 Mag as a backup gun for hunting.

That's awesome Ron! How well does the polychoke system work? I really like the X7 rifles. I have a RAA in .308, and wanted a little something lighter to handle 4 legged varmints up to deer. I had a 44 Blackhawk and Smith 29 in .44 Mag once, but the .41 grew on me and I love the Blackhawk.

2 that I don't have pics of that I acquired as well are:
Star Modelo Super 9mm Largo
Ruger American Rifle in .308

The polychoke is ok and was the forerunner to screw in choke tubes. I've never heard how accurate the adjustments were in regard to altering patterns appropriately. The downside is it gave guns a "sore nose" look and in later years tended to detract from trade/resale value. For me, the guns I own that have them are ones I wanted because they are cool old guns or ones that have sentimental value therefore I wasn't concerned with value reduction.

I really like the X7's too. I don't recall hearing/reading any horror stories from other owners so I think they tended to be solid guns. Besides the ones I mentioned, I also have one in .222 Remington and my two stepsons own one each in 25-06. All of them have been stellar shooters, regardless of caliber. In time, I may own a 243, too, just because.

I still have .41's in a S&W 657 3-inch round butt (Lew Horton special edition), a S&W Model 58, a scoped Ruger Redhawk 7 1/2 in barrel, and a Marlin 18945 lever gun.

Outstanding Ron!
Yeah, I didn't get the Sportsman for collecting, thankfully. To me it doesn't detract from the gun with having it on the end. I'm using my 16 ga this year. It was a steal of a deal, and couldn't pass it up.

Without a doubt Fotis has the knowledge and would steer you in the correct direction.

However, it either slipped his mind or you already have one is why you, didn't add it. But I do nt see a picture of a 348 ? lol

Also, if Jamila was to see this thread she would wonder why Fotis didn't also suggest a double and/or a mannlicher stock rifle, lol

seriously, very nice additions sir

Thankful Otter,
A Model 71 in 348 would be much welcomed, but alas, I would have to have a lot more funds to accomplish getting the 348, or a Double Rifle, even a Mannlicher style. LOL

Now....if Fotis or African Huntress wanted to give me one as a birthday present for my birthday tomorrow, I wouldn't object. LMAO

The rifles I would like to add to my collection would be:
#1- Repro of Winchester Model 1876 in .45-60, or .45-75, maybe .50-95
#2- Repro of Winchester Model 1886/71 in .45-70, or .348
#3- Repro Remington Rolling Block rifle in .45-70
