My son and I just got back home from the rifle range. Mule deer season starts Saturday morning.

His 6mm Rem with the 3.5-10x Leupold is nicely sighted-in at 200 yards. The load hasn't changed in years:

48 grains of RL-22 with a 95 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip at 3,000 fps

I had the 25-06 Rem with a 6x Leupold, also sighted-in at 200 yards. And used my standard near-max load of Retumbo with the 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip "Blue Cyclone" at 3120 fps.

Both are proven loads. After checking the 200 yard zeros, we had a blast banging my steel gong at 300 yards from sitting and prone. There were a few misses, but mostly hits at that range on steel.

Looking forward to the hunting season, and perhaps we'll put some venison in the freezer!
