Ruger No 1

Cabelas has new No 1s on sale for a very good price. Picked up a 280 yesterday with not great but nice wood. I don't do pictures anymore.

I should imagine that the 280 will serve you well. It is an overlooked cartridge, in my estimate.

The No 1 is a classic rifle and your caliber choice matches it superbly .. They hold their value well too.

I have never owned a No1 but have admired a number of them over the years :wink:.
I personally believe that the 280 Remington is a great and very underrated calibre.

What a Classic Rifle and great cartridge.

I have always dreamed of a Ruger #1 in my hunting go-to's. Never had the $$$$ until now, in my retired years. But the cartridge I'd love to have is only offered in a barrel shorter than I think is appropriate.

A 280 should be on everyone's short list. Probably the #1 for an only one.
