22 mag misfires due to dirty chamber?

So I have me a chiappa little badger, Tiny gun, lots of fun,

Problem is, the last time I took it out I was getting light strikes constantly, recocking and firing would usually set them off.

There was a reasonable amount of carbon crud in the rim area of the chamber, is this enough to cause a weird thing like this?

It wasn’t doing this until my last outing.

Yes even in .22 Lr. I took a .243 brass bore brush and bent it into a L to clean my pistol chambers but with the rifle you would only need a short cleaning rod with a non rotating handle. A few twist and the problem is taken care of.

So it’s just a build up of junk that stops it chambering fully?
