New Barrel

I finally got my 30-378 back today with it’s new barrel. I went with a 8 twist at 28” finished length. This is what Weatherby should be doing on this cartridge. Now to find some time to get it up speed.

Nice...but good luck getting velocity unless your reamer had big freebore.

That will be a hammer. What weight of bullets and type will you be working with?

Lack of freebore is not a issue here , she’s long. I went with the 8 twist for the Berger 245gr EOL that are coming. For now I have some Berger 230gr VLD Hybrids to use up. This chamber is alittle tighter compared to my old one so I’m in the process of resizing my brass down. I found on QL to match up BT to a higher Node 28” was ideal for this caliber without going crazy on pressure.

Should be one heck of a long-range hunting rifle!

What makes the barrel?

I just ordered a Krieger 8 twist, 5R barrel a little bit ago.
