Looking into getting another rifle next year, I'm looking at another 7mm-08 or 25-06. Both barrels have a 1-10 twist. Anyone know what weight bullets are normally best for that rate of twist in those calibers?

The 25-06 will handle 120 Partitions.

I’m sure the 7-08 has a better twist than that, I think all of the rest of the Howa’s are 1-9.5 or better. Even so, a 10 twist will work for the 140’s, probably most 150 and 160’s. It’s pretty marginal though for the super pointy and sleek Bullets though. I’d double check, I’d bet it’s 1-9 and change.

Just looked at Legacy Sports, all of the 7-08’s I found were 1-9.5 twist. That should do for most any Bullets except the sleek numbers like the Berger, Hornady ELD and Nosler ABLR’s. May even work there but I see better results with the 8 twist on them.

Thanks! I’ll have to go back and recheck that, I could’ve swore it said 1-10?
