So my neighbor wanted my wife to try shooting his 257 that he hasn't shot in years. I did some research and looks like the gun was built in 1983, there wouldn't be any issues with the new 257 +P rounds that are available now would there? Its pre A-bolt and has 9 lugs on the bolt similar to a weatherby. I am assuming that it isn't a problem but you know what happens when you assume. Its a beautiful rifle btw

The Browning BBR was also offered in chamberings with higher pressures than the 257 Roberts +P, so yes, it will be fine.
Hope she enjoys it!

You won't have any problems with it. I had one in a .25-06 the load was 64 grs H870 115 gr Nosler PT Fed 215 primer. Never checked the speed (probably slow) but was very accurate 1/2 in groups consistently and killed several deer. My dislike about it was that it was kinda heavy. Dan.
