Did some rainy weather practice at 450 yards this morning with the Ruger Precision Rifle (aka "Big Ugly"). Load is the 108 gr Hornady ELD-Match bullet over Superformance for about 2960 fps.

Cold bore shot smacked almost the center of the gong, and the rest of the shots kept on smacking the gong. Very satisfying rifle and cartridge to use.

We were a bunch of wimps today. Four of us had gathered to practice at 600 yards... Then the rain started. The 600 yard line has no roof. We retreated to the covered firing line, which gives us targets to 450 yards and decided that was good enough for today!

Nothing wrong with being wimps. I don't shoot when temperature drops below -15 C as my solvents freeze, making cleanup somewhat difficult. I don't like shooting in the rain. It is not a matter of life or death if I don't shoot, so... That looks to be a fine setup, Guy. The six Creedmoor appears to be all a confirmed shoot-a-holic could want.
