I know many on here have done it in the past , but for some reason I go for the different look. My Remington 7400 (308 Win) removed the wood and installed composite. ADDA2883-4FD0-4BBE-9D31-5D05AFC08B8D.jpeg
My daughter’s Ruger (22-250) ,the barrel and action were done with Brownell’s Alma-Hyde 45A99BEC-7E6F-47D2-B445-0B570082971D.jpeg
My CVA .50 Cal ML 5794B61E-143E-4FD2-BBAA-3B2FBF6BBC7E.jpeg
And last my son’s Howa (6mm Creed) in a WBY S2 stock 3E89591D-AF24-4810-8264-628E92815018.jpeg
Each one is unique in its own way , if ever stolen they will stick out like a sore thumb

Those look really cool. What is your process? Were/ are you happy with the Aluma-hide? CL

Pretty easy projects
1st remove everything down to bare stock
2nd clean over and over with isopropyl alcohol and let dry off
3rd pick color and apply 4-5 light coats or until desired appearance
4th after paint is dry apply Krylon spray webbing , takes a little practice
5th after webbing is dry apply several light coats of matte clear , drying between coats. I keep applying layers of clear until it smoothens out the webbing to there is still texture for grip.
Aluma-hype for the most part is durable , it does chip and for some reason it came off the muzzle end. I would not do a more expensive barreled action.
