Thompson Center production shut down - company to be sold

That's all I know. Smith & Wesson put out the announcement that T/C is shut down, orders cancelled, and the company to be divested. Which means if and when it gets picked up it will be a while before any new production T/C stuff shows up. S&W will retain their production tooling and use it on other products. It appears to me like another fine company gobbled up and spit out by the financial geniuses who run the corporations but don't know squat about products, people, and service. EE2
 
Man that stinks. Never could afford what they were selling (until the venture) but was always impressed w/ reported accuracy and apparent quality. CL
 
I can only hope that someone will buy them up and start production. If S&W is keeping the tooling, that'll cramp things a bit. But in the age of CNC, that isn't the showstopper it once was.
