Found a nice stock set at an estate sale and purchased a preowned 7-30 Waters barrel. I was disappointed to find the forend had screw spacing for the pistol barrels.
Put it together with a plastic forend I had available and mounted an old 3-9 Bushnell Composite scope.
I had some 120 grain Sierra loads I’d fireformed from 30-30 brass I was using in a 14” barrel.
I got things zeroed pretty close at 50 yards and went to the 100 yard range this afternoon.
4 clicks up on the scope and hoping to be 1” high at 100 yards.
Not all in one hole but this is good enough for me to chase deer with and plenty of time to see if I can make it better.

nothing wrong with that .I'm sure there's been a lot of hunting done with set ups shooting way bigger than this . you did good .

Quite ingenious. You've made it work, and work well. Without a doubt it will allow you to bring home game.

That’s a neat setup. I have a 243 HandiRifle that I need to work with a little. A good buddy passed it to me for my daughter but I haven’t given it much attention yet.

Nicely done. Those T/C Contenders can shoot.
Mine has a 14" barrel and will consistently shoot under MOA. I've had excellent results using the 120 gr BT with RL15 and Varget.
Adjusting your COL might tighten up your group.
What kind of speed are you getting?

Since we're onto Thompson Contenders, I have two of the original frames that won't function with more recent barrels. Anyone sent a frame back to Thompson for refitting?

I had heard that S&W has ceased Thompson operations and is looking to spin off the brand and keep all the production equipment.

I think I'd send it to one of the TC specialists to retrofit.

House of arms is selling new frames and the after market Mattel companies are going strong. I’m sure TC will make a comeback.
