This auction is a few miles from me. I’m not a lever action guy , what would be a fair bid on this rifle?

Probably a solid shooter, the holes for the scope mount have decreased it’s value significantly. The rest of it looks decent from the pics. I’d expect to see it in the $750-$850 range if it were advertised for sale.

The Winchesters definitely get higher $ than the Brownings, but as mentioned the alterations and condition are going to negatively impact the price.
Not sure Stateside, but here north of the border you would still see it go for $1000-$1500 range, depending on how bad the bidders want it.

OK , thats more than I was thinking. $400-$450 was about all I can do right now. Earlier this week I picked up a reasonably priced WBY MarkV for a future build.

Never know. You might get it for $450. That would be a good buy. Auctions are weird sometimes
