Got the Bergara today and it came with a 22 in barrel not the 24 as listed on their website. Action is smooth trigger breaks like glass so I brought it home. Now to get it scoped and work up some loads. Think it will be a great all round deer rifle. Dan.

Got to the range this morning before family time. Worked us loads using Big Game and Nosler 140 gr AB Fed 210GM primer in reformed 308 Lapua brass. Started at 45.5 ended at 47.5 The 46 gr loads gave the best group of .7357 3 shots at 100yds. Wind was gusting 15-20 mph and it was about 36 degrees. For a quick throw together load I think this gun will be a shooter. Will be trying out some of the other load data that everyone has shared. Shells feed ruff from the magazine and think its because new. Other than that I like this rifle. Dan.

Sounds like a great start, if you are sub moa already that's really good and more than good enough for the late season doe you mentioned earlier.

Anybody try CFE223 in the 7mm08 with 120 or 140 grain bullets? Didn't see any load data given here and was just wondering. Dan.

I have. Good accuracy but slow, much slower than Big Game.

That's what I was wondering about. First results with Big Game has done well. Will tweak it some as time allows. Dan.

120 pro hunter
42.5 g varget
Fed 210
Shoots well out of my son's savage 110 youth rifle. The 120 ballistic tip and I think its 43 g of varget shoots just as well and has preformed well on whitetail.

Tried out the 140 gr Nosler AB with 46 grs Big Game on a doe at 180 yds. Split the heart into and exit wound was about 2 inches. Still ran about 65-70 yds but pouring the blood. Bullet performance was very good. Hope to have a 120 gr bullet load ready to try for next year. Dan.

I've loaded for 7-08's in the following rifles: Sako A-II, Finnlite, Rem Model 7, Nosler 48 Heritage, and most recently a H-S Precision 2000 sporter. All with sporter weight barrels and 140 gr bullets. The two powders that I found worked well were I-4350 and WW 760. Depending on the rifle, 2800 fps was possible with 760. I felt that 760 worked better in cold weather with magnum primers. I'm not listing charges as your chamber and brass will have it's own limits.
Currently shooting RL16 with 140 Accubonds. At magazine COAL it's compressed pretty hard before I could get to 2800, even with a long drop tube. Bought the RL 16 to try in a 6.5 CM.

Let me correct myself. 47.5/RL26 got me 2830 but that is half way up the neck. I'm shooting 46.0 at 2770 because the precision is better in the H-S there. Your 2990 seems pretty aggressive to me. How many losds do you get on that brass?desertcj":1ucujvvh said:
