My Dad passed away last week while my brother and I were in Seattle loading our container for Alaska. He had been battling dementia for six years.
Swung by a couple of days ago, sister said she found a box I would want.
From 1967, I was 12, my first mule deer and my first bull. I thought this were lost for ever.
Now to get them up in the house...

Sorry about your Dad's passing. Getting your racks that you thought were lost will be a help to ease the loss of his presence as you look at them and remember the experiences with him. Dan.

Also sorry to learn of your Father's passing.. Dementia, with personal knowledge of a family member affected, is a terrible period for the afflicted and family and friends. Focus of the memories made with your Dad and record them in a journal to refer to as years pass. May your Father Rest in Peace. Rol

Indeed, treasures that are of inestimable value to you. I am sorry to hear of your dad's death. A couple of fine racks preserved for you, however.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, glad you get to relive those memories as you walk by every day.

I have the last Whitetail I shot with grandpa on the wall, it’s not the biggest or best, I’ve given away bigger ones, but that will be there till I’m done with it.

Condolences,

Coop

Sorry to hear about your father. It's never easy even if you knew it was coming. It's still hard. What great memories attached to those items in the pictures. Pretty cool.

The rifle, a Ruger 77, .30-06 he bought for me in 68.
I appreciate the good thoughts. We have had to postpone his service indefinitely due to the Kung fu flu. We hope to have that done in May.

Condolences for your Dad. Nice to see you recovered your
Antlers! And looks like both of us, started out with a Ruger
77 .............. I have no idea where mine is today???? And the Hudson's Bay blanket is a very classy touch in this great photo!

Comfort for you and your family. Your dad did a many great things for many people. I recall you mentioning he had a hand in the Great Lakes Salmon. There are many thankful people around the Great Lakes who appreciate your dad helping solve the problem with piles of dead ale wives on our beaches.

My sympathies to you and your family. Treasures indeed, but simply reminders of more important things he taught and did for others, the way is sounds. Immeasurable value there. Believe I will wipe down Dads rifle today, and think of you. CL

Sad news, my heart goes out to you, and your family. May he Rest in Peace at last and God hold him in the Palm of his Hand until you meet again.
