Took my 7-300 Win Mag out yesterday with 180g ELDMs and H1000 and RL26 for a little testing at 300 yards. I did a ladder test couple months back with this combo at 300 yards and just got around to shooting 3 shot groups with what looked to be the nodes. So heres the result of that. I'm liking the 72.5g H1000 with a 3/4" group. This is why I dont get to hung up on numbers. As you can see, the loads with the lower ES do not always shoot the best...

If this work is also at 300yds, 3/4” will certainly bring a smile to your face.

If you don’t mind, can I ask who built you barrel and how you would rate it’s quality so far?

All testing has been done at 300 yards. Rifle has a 28" heavy Bartlein stainless 9 twist. I would rate Bartleins at the top of most barrel makers. Bartlein and Kreiger are 2 of the better barrel makers IMO...Every Bartlein I've seen and been around, is an easy 1/2 MOA shooter or better with minimal testing. 3/4" at 300 yards is close enough to 1/4 MOA. Good enough for me...

Great shooting Jorey. I have a Bartlein 1-8 5R on my 7 Mashburn and it has been an excellent shooting barrel as well, with a bunch of bullets. I'd say 2900+ with the 180 should work pretty well, especially with that sorta accuracy.

What are you getting from your 7 Mag?

73gr H1000, 3000fps with a 26" barrel. Its throated long though, 3.450" OAL. I haven't shot it a whole lot but it is 1/2 moa, maybe a little less. Shilen barrel on mine. A Bartlein would have been nice! Next time...

Wow, you are getting some good velocity. I could go a bit higher, but I've never had the desire to hot rod this rifle. Nosler brass is on its 5th firing and the primer pockets are still like new...My rifles throat wasn't setup properly...My OAL is only 3.5" I wanted it at least 3.6" so I dont know what happened there, but I think that's a good part of why I'm 100-150fps slower than everyone elses 7-300. You would think with my 28" barrel 3100fps would be easily attainable without hot rodding it and still achieving under 1/2 MOA. Sadly, that's just not the case. I pretty much have a 7 Rem Mag at this point lol. Oh well, it shoots great and I doubt any animal will notice the velocity difference.

It won't matter. Any long range shot you're gonna take where it would matter, you still need a range and wind reading to plug into a ballistic app. So maybe its 25 clicks up vs 23...whoopty dooo. If you have the magazine length to handle the longer OAL, you could have the throat lengthened a bit?
