What's the current status of Quick Loads, in terms of what platforms it's available on, etc? Last I checked, it was not available on Mac.

From neconos.com website: "Q: I have a MAC – will QuickLOAD work on a MAC?

A: As long as you have an emulator program such as “Parallels” or “Virtual PC” or any other program that allows a MAC device to run programs. Most newer MACs come with an emulator already installed."

I have run QuickLOAD for several years on Macintosh computers, using Crossover Office from Codeweavers. It runs perfectly (along with QuickTARGET Unlimited and the rest of the suite). My current Mac is a nearly 7-year-old iMac.

Since my son spilled softdrink on my laptop, I can't use Quickload right now - so I have a request.
Two actually.
I had loads checked for pressure and speed.
1. 300 winmag, 168 gr TTSX, 75 gr MRP powder in Hornady brass.
Result: 900 m/s (2950 fps) and just 3387 bar pressure (49127psi).
Load was rather compressed.
OAL 84'8 mm (3.338 inches)
Test barrel 26 inches
I noticed before that the lot is rather slow...

QL has the option to.modify burn-rate.
Would be interesting if those parameters could be simulated.
And to see what happens if I can set the bullet out further.
Let's say 88 - 90 mm.
Maybe a little more speed might be gained?

Load 2
308 win.
124-gr Sax brass bullet, 47 gr N140
908 m/s (2977 fps) 3376 bar (48764 psi)
OAL 70.9 mm (2,791 inches).
Test barrel 24 inches.

Again, low pressure and could need some more speed.

N140 is not ideal, but I have it and no other use for it. So I would like to use it.

Speeds were very close - max diference 18 fps for the winmag, 12 for the 308.

Still would like to get them faster within safe pressure!
Cheers,
Frank

To you quick load gurus out there.
I have been lurking for awhile digging into QL output.
First post btw.

I noticed something that maybe someone can shed light on...

In the output files others have posted I can think of only one instance where H4350 or IMR 4350 data has shown up.
(That was a 215gr. Projectile with a 26" barrel)

Nowhere else have I seen output in that burn rate range except for Accurate RL-16.
There is plenty of Accurate 4350 data but that is a step slower(burn)
I also don't see Accurate 2700 which should be on the faster end of the gap.

The gap seems of to me being the IMR4350 seems to be a tried and true favorite and seems like it should fall in the 90%+ fill criteria.

Does anyone know why these powders seem to be excluded from the output?

Thanks.

What info is required for quick load?

My friend has asked me to load a few rounds for him.
.243 22'' barrel Browning A Bolt
Powder IMR4350
Nosler Partition 100 grain Spitzer code 30390
Many thanks

England,

You have listed sufficient information to provide a basic projection. You can refine this by providing the maximum case capacity, overflow and cartridge length desired. That allows for a more accurate projection.

I don't find a .243 calibre 100 grain PT coded as 30390, however. I checked both QL and the Nosler site, but don't see that particular bullet. Would you check to ensure this is the proper product code?

Here is a projection with the .243, 100 grain PT SP 35642.

Many thanks Mike, the code is correct, but I believe they are very old, and they are probably obsolete, but it's a pity to waste them.

Hi,

Some notes:
- There are no Vectan Tubal (Tu) powders in Quickload, only the SP. (SP7-SP13)
- I left the QL default case volume for the 30-06 cartridge (68.2gr H2O).
I found in my notes a batch of recovered Hornady brass that I had measured and the mean capacity after resizing was 69.5gr H2O.
Not a big difference in pressure and it's better to assume less volume to be on the safe side.
- N160 is less than optimal for the 30-06. Very low pressures and low velocities even with 100% case filling.
- N540 and RS52 are ok if that is what you have, but the ideal would be N550 or RS60.

There we go:

RS52:

Hi,
Could you please provide me the Quick Load data for:

.30-06
22.7" tube 1/11 twist
Nosler Partition 200 gr & Ballistic Tip 168 gr
Hornady brass
COAL = 3.32"
Powder: Vihtavuori N540, N160, Reload Swiss RS52, TU5000

THANK YOU !

Hi,

Hi
I want to share with you first test I've done with Sierra GameKing SBT 165 & Vith N540.

I shot with Blaser, cal.30-06, at 100m. Each grid is a one-inch square.
Vith N540 49,5gr - COL 84 Sierra GameKing SBT 165.jpeg
Vith N540 50gr - COL 84 Sierra GameKing SBT 165.jpeg

I hope this would be useful for you!
Thanks for your help

Those loads are certainly gratifying. That'll work to take game, for sure. Congratulations. Any idea on your velocity?

I'm in need of some 224 Valkyre QL data using H380 and 748 in a 20" 1/6.5 twist launching 80 and 90 gr. Berger bullets.
Much appreciated.
John

I have a stash of these bullets and would like to try them in my 45/70 double rifle that has a MAP of 32k psi. The barrel length is 24", the COL would be 2.800", and the max loading density would be 102%. Much appreciated.

Can anyone run a load for me:

7mm saum
Nosler 140 ballistic silver tip
RL26
23 inch barrel

Also if you can run the one that shows the list of all the powders top load that would be great.

I would very much appreciate any help!

Thank you!
