I picked up a Marlin 1894 in 22 WMR a couple months ago and finally got a chance to take it to the range today. It had a rain mount on it when I got it so I put a 2-7 leupold vx2 on it. The hardest part was finding ammo.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well it shot. CCI maximag 40gr solids shot a nice little 1.5” cluster of 5 shots at 100 yards. I then used anoth 10 rounds breaking clay pigeon pieces on the back berm. Due to the scarcity of ammo that was all I could afford to use.
I think now that bears are going to sleep for winter this will replace my 1894 44 mag in its chicken flock protection duties.
