    120 gr BTip / 140 gr BTip / 140 gr Win Powerpoint

I never really got this opinion on the toughness of 120gr BTs. I've been using them since 2001 out of a 7x57 and later a 7-08. Initially I could catch them if I hit one shoulder of a roe deer! Fast forward this season. I've been lucky enough to shoot approx 10 spikes and bucks (fallow deer -...

    165gr partition and my moose

I started using a suppressor in 2006 when despite using in ear electronic protection I was getting tinnitus after every successful hunt. I quickly got used to the reduced blast, muzzle flip and recoil and over time have come to view a suppressor as near essential. I particularly like the...

    Moose bullet in 30 cal.

I have shot 16 moose in the last 15years. I have used 9.3x62 with 232 and 250gr, 308 with 165, 168 and 180gr and 30-06 with 165gr. I've killed each moose I've shot at but I'd say that the better kills were with traditional weights/construction. Going lighter than standard (232gr and 165gr)...

    165gr partition and my moose

Thanks for your kind words. The rifle is 60years old next year (well barrel, action, and floorplate). The bore is terribly pitted and the throat half way up the barrel but it is astonishingly accurate if a little down on velocity.

    165gr partition and my moose

I changed not a thing from last year - 30-06, 165gr partition @2,700fps and my old ZG in it's McMillan with Swaro 1.5-6x42 and ASE supressor. I spotted this fellow bedded down while out stalking clearcuts on day 4. I saw a boulder and checked with the binos just in case - a bull 200yards down...

    Partition or Accubond for moose

Just back now. Great to meet my friends and head into the woods for a week of bacon, coffee, single malt and a lot of hunting talk - what's not to like! A shortage of dogs meant a greater dependence on stalking clear cuts. This was somewhat hampered by near biblical rain most days. After 4...

    Partition or Accubond for moose

Taking the 165gr partitions. The ABs shot a bit tighter but the partitions are a little flatter and I shot them better in field practice so my brain is a tiny bit more confident with them.

    Partition or Accubond for moose

Thanks for the info and kind words. I'm lucky to be half Swedish and have access to some good hunting with friends (the best way to hunt). I've shot moose with 9.3x62 and then a little suppressed 308 with 180gr partition, 168gr TTSX and 165gr partition. I am not a TTSX fan based on my experience...

    Partition or Accubond for moose

I'm in the happy position of having two bullets to choose from for my forthcoming moosehunt. The hunt is over a week, opportunities will mainly come from stalking clear cuts as well as driven hunting. In the past shots have ranged from 275yards down to 30yards. I've used 180gr partitions at...

Penetratio Question re Nosler partition gold 150gr in 30-06

I'm off tomorrow for a weekend hunting for really big red stag just pre rut. Exciting as I've found sheds of 6lb weight a side! Ordinarily I stick to broadside shots but shot opportunities are rare and if the mother of all stags offers a hard raking shot I'm wondering if this bullet...

    Another Accubond Question 140gr 7mm

Hi, First off it's great to be able to do this rather than phone from the UK where toll free isn't exactly free. I'm a confirmed Ballistic tip fan shooting 90gr 6mm @3,200fps, 100gr 6.5 @3,000fps all on UK roe and fallow which go no larger than a white tail and which are no more than 20 miles...
