    7mm Weatherby load recommendations, please

I'm getting a 7mm Weatherby Magnum and am asking you 7mm Wby shooters for your recommendations on hunting loads for deer and elk. I know every barrel is different and what shoots very well in your rifle might not do so well with mine. The bullets I have and would like to test are 150 grain...

QL request for 7mm Weatherby Magnum

I'm getting a 7mm Wby Mag with an P14 Enfield receiver and a 24" ER Shaw barrel. My plan is to use Swift's 150gn Scirocco IIs, 160gn A-Frames, or Nosler's 160gn Accubonds. A run of Quick Load would be appreciated. Thank you.

    9.3x62 Mauser load

Anyone looking for a go-to load for their 9.3x62mm Mauser doesn't need to go farther than the 270gn Speer Hot Cor and Varget, specifically 58.5 grains of that powder. Chronographed velocities form yesterday's range sessions were 2448, 2437, 2431, 2433, 2452 and 2444 from Magneto Speed. The...

    14 gauge shot shell load

A friend got a 14 gauge S/S and will be looking for load data. Does anyone have published data or data they've used? He's likely going to split the difference between equal weights of 12 and 16 gauge data. He has lots of odd / rare calibers so this is nothing new.

QL request for 6.5mm Creedmoor with 130 and 140 grain bullet

Some one, please, run QuickLoad for a 6.5mm Creedmoor with 130 grain Swift Scirocco IIs and 140 grain Hornady SSTs. I have little knowledge of how the program works, but the powders I would like data on are H-414, H-4350, IMR-4350, Superformance, RL-17, RL-19, W-748 and Varget. 24" barrel with...

    6.5-300 Weatherby loads

I'm curious about the velocities of the 6.5-300 Weatherby wildcat. I know there is talk of a .264 Weatherby Magnum produced by Weatherby Inc., but at this point it is still talk and no hat, so to speak. Thanks for any info on this wildcat.

Tiny shot group with 6.5mm Creedmoor

My 1924 FN Mauser (Mexican Mauser) rebarreled to 6.5mm Creedmoor made this tiny shot group at 100 yards. The 140gn Hornady SSTs and Superformance powder with 2.69" COL were shot over a sandbag at my range. I waited about a minute between shots. This load work up stuff was a breeze!

Why is anyone getting (or has gotten) a 26 Nosler

Curious as to why someone has purchased, ordered, or wants a 26 Nosler.

    150gn Sierra Game King

This was recovered from a large white tail buck shot at 135yds. The bullet hit a rib on the R side, then deflected to the left at about a 45 degree before stopping in front of the left rear leg, just under the hide. I worked up to a non-book load of 57gn of Superformance from a bolt action 280...

    6.5mm Creedmoor handload?

I'm looking for some favorite loads for a bolt action 6.5mm Creedmoor. The rifle has a new 1:8 twist, 24" Shaw barrel on a FN Mexican Mauser action. I have 129gn Hornady Interlock, 130gn Swift Scirocco II, and 140gn Hornady SST bullets to test and new Hornady brass.

WSMs--why the failure to turn the rifle world around

I've never shot a rifle chambered for any WSM cartridge, but I have noticed fewer of them for sale in big stores and offered by wholesalers. Why is this? I think it is due to low sales, but what is the cause of the low sales? Is a short action magnum no better than a standard or a long action...

    WANTED: 9.3x62mm Mauser loads

I am putting a 24" heavy sporter countour barrel on a VZ-24 action and I would appreciate the best shooting loads for a 9.3x62. The loads can be anything from a 250 grain to a 300 grain bullet. So far, what I've found is the 286 grain bullet is the most widely produced. Some impressive things...

IMR powder vs Hodgdon powder on temperature sensitivities

Confirm this if you can: IMR powders are temperature sensitive. I'm looking for specific references OR experienes with IMR-4831 and IMR-4895 in temperatures under 32 degrees F. I know the powders by Hodgdon, such as H-1000, 4831, 4350, are not sensitive.

    Going over the book limits

A sweet-shooting 280 Rem with a Mauser 98 action has proved to be quite capable of safely going over the max published limits of several powders. I knew the loads in the current manuals were "loaded down" for the semi-auto 280s so going over the limits was not really a stretch. Superformance...

    110 Accubond, RL-22 & Redfield Revolution

The 110gn Accubond gets 1" groups @100yds with 68gn of RL-22 in my S2 Vanguard .257 Wby Mag. Seated not-too-deeply allowed the overall length to be just short of the max lenght of the magazine. With the exception of shooting heavier bullets from 300yds, the Redfield Revolution 3-9x40mm has not...

Rifles in the field this hunting season

What rifle(s) are you taking to the field this year? Deer seasons 1) Muzzle loader: .50cal Hawken 2) Regular firearms: 300 Wby Mag 3) Antlerless only: 257 Wby Mag and yes, there will be a back-up rifle in the pickup.

    110 Accubond, RL-19 and the 257 Wby

I tried two loads with RL-19 at 100yds and 65gn of powder was the better one with my S2 Vanguard 257 Wby. I didn't get the COL for this, but it was as long as the bullet can be and still fit into the magazine. The 110gn Accubond is a wicked good bullet.

    25-06 accuracy with 115 BTs

There is one regular hole and another one that is really two holes from 115gn BTs @ 100 yards. I have a 25-06 with a 26" barrel. I used Remcases, Rem large rifle primers with 53.5gn of H-4831. That is a bit over Hodgdon's published max load, but there were no signs of overpressure.

    280 Remington loads

Does anyone have a pet load for a bolt-action 280 Remington? I have one at a gunsmith now that is being fitted with a 24" barrel. I'm not interested in loads for a semi-auto rifle as I suspect those will not take the pressures a large-ring Mauser 98 action will handle.
