I am putting a 24" heavy sporter countour barrel on a VZ-24 action and I would appreciate the best shooting loads for a 9.3x62. The loads can be anything from a 250 grain to a 300 grain bullet. So far, what I've found is the 286 grain bullet is the most widely produced.

Some impressive things I've learned about this chambering are:
a. the smallest caliber to take all of the big game in Africa, including the dangerous stuff
b. sectional density nearly identical to a 300 grain .375 bullet
c. recoil levels that won't smack around the shooter
d. 30-06 brass can be reformed to make 366 brass (9.3mm)
e. completely capable of minute of angle accuracy, but not necessarily a needed item in a medium bore rifle
f. no bolt modificaiton needed since it has a standard .473" bolt face

Thanks again

It is certainly a great cartridge that is sadly neglected here in North America.
