I recommend two different scopes... I would say that the VX II in 6x18 target formation is wonderful. I have two of them and love them... Great price to.
The second scope that I recommend is the 6.5 x 20 LR with 30MM tube. It has the AO on the side and is really nice. You'll pay for it...
Both rifles will do you just fine... I think the accuracy will be very close b/n the two. You will undoubtedly see your biggest differecne in the weight b/n the two. Decide what you plan to do the most of and then choose the rifle that best fills your niche.
The LVSF models are really nice...
I love the RL 15 in my .243 and Swifts... Using the 70 gr. BT's, it is awesone. No, it's not the fastet powder, but is very consistent. If it will shoot in a finiky Swift, it will shoot many other calibers.... Good shooting...
I have shot several whitetails and mule deer with the .22 cal partition, 60 gr. I've had great resutls with it. I took a large buck last year at about 300 yards, using this bullet out of a 220 swift. He dropped inside 40 yards. With proper placement, this bullet will do fine...
Hi,
You might try placing some forend pressure on it. This can be done by inserting a rubber washer at the end when you put it back together. This seems to work on rifles that are shooting in the 3" range... Let me know if it works....
