Pinenut. what calibers were they shooting?

I just bought one and am picking it up tomorrow. Has anyone used this gun? I have had several Ruger nine MM's but this is my first composite 45. What do you think is a good defense load for this pistol. I will load 200 Grain SWC for practice and plinking. How is the 180 Nosler rated for defense?

I have had so many of them that I loose count. Never had a bad one. Great shooters. Strong action. I have a Savage Scout rifle in 7MM-08. This is one great caliber. :)

I have some loaded for my 223 but have not had a chance to try them yet. Maybe next year. I don't know how my NEF will handle them. It shoots best with light bullets. Been to cold to get out often to shoot.

The 280 stacks up well against the 7MM Rem Mag. Some of the 280's I have owned have matched some of the 7 Mags that I have owned. Certainly in the hunting fields the difference is to slight to notice. Except of course for the recoil. :wink:
