For anyone curious about the 25 cal. 115 partitions on sps with the .525 ogive. I just did a comparison with normal 115 partitions.

First of all for bullet length they are 0.06 shorter 1.08 vs 1.14.

COAL to the lands in my 25-06, 3.153 vs 3.256

They should be great for the 257 Roberts in a short action rifle. Still an awesome bullet.
Thanks for the comparison photos.

Slimfinn, I'm just confirming.....you are saying the new bullets measure 1.080 and not 1.008? Looks like way more than .060 difference in the picture but that could be the camera angle.

Confirmed it is the camera angle, they are 1.080 to 1.084 for the few I checked

Okay thanks for that info. I don't know where they'd hit the lands but that length would work out well for a Roberts in an intermediate length action like I just picked up. Seated to the base the overall length would be 2.980. The normal length would work well also having an overall length of 3.040 seated to the base.

I do have the 120's with the .525 ojive too if you want any info from them, but dont have the regular ones for a direct comparison.

What is the reasoning for changing the ogive? Just curious.

From their site;
Nosler 25 Caliber 115 Grain Partition SP W/ BLUNT OGIVE - 50ct
25 Partition 115 Grain Spitzer Bullet

These Partition bullets are Overruns of an OEM Partition bullet made by Nosler. Designed to provide a shorter COAL in cartridges such as the 257 Roberts, these have a shorter ogive curve and a slightly more rounded profile than the standard Nosler 25 Cal 115gr Partition.
