I have friend who is doing load development for his 340 weatherby, and he is thinking of trying H1000. It isnt listed in any of the books though. Anyone have any experience with this powder in this cartridge? Thanks.

Tell your friend that an 86.0 grain charge of H1000 should be about maximum if he is using a 250 grain AB in his 340 Weatherby. That would be about as good a bullet as he could find for the rifle.

I would also look at RL 22, RL 25, IMR 7828 and Retumbo.
The 250 gr AB at 2900 fps is a serious long range hammer.
