Took my Finnlight in 6.5 Swede to the range today. I have been breaking in this rifle by shooting 140 gr Custom Comp bullets and she is a fine shooter with these.

Loaded up some 140gr AB with the same powder (RL-22) and the same OAL (3.03). Nosler test data was done with 3.025. The rifle shot these into a 2 inch group ?

Looked at the data that I had for 130 and 140 AB in my Tikkas and they shot well with longer OAL - 3.1
Nosler shows max OAL = 3.15

So...loaded another dozen rounds at 3.1 and will see Friday how they shoot.

Would really like to poke a black bear next week with one of these !!!!

Backed the OAL to 3.1 inches with the 140 AB and the rifle is shooting great. Where is the black bear?

Going scouting for archery Wednesday. When I was up there last week, there was a fresh bear poop on the road in and lots of poop where we were scouting and watching elk. On the bike ride out, even a fresher poop on the road out.

Cheers

In my Sako 85 140 AB works great 3.1 oal.
My powder choices are: Norma MRP, VV N560, RL-22 and H4831sc.
All about 46 gr to 48 gr loads.
Lapua brass, CCI2 primers
140 AB it is my deer hunting choice in Wisconsin

I used the 140 AB at 2655 fps for fallow deer, red stag, Dall ram, Dorsett ram and Blackbuck on a trip to Argentina. All DRT.

White tails are a cinch. I find that I use a longer coal for the AB's as a matter of course.
