I've been seeing Banded E-Tips mentioned at SPS. Are they a solid or is the band a cannilure?

The new E Tips has pressure relief bands cut into the shank of the bullet
to reduce bearing surface.

Makes me wonder if it reduces copper fouling too?

Well look at GS customs they worked the grooves in their original design. Gerard was a pioneer in this regard. Everyone copied his design in one way or another.

Does this mean that all E-Tips from this time forward will have the bands cut in them?
Thanks

That would be blilliant

Are we talking multiple grooves or just one big one?
I've got some with the single big groove. If I remember right they were located just a smidge below where the shank went to caliber width. So it seemed like there would be just enough rifling contact to nicely center the bullet and then a nice "relief" as the bullet would run up to full contact and pressure. One thing about multiple grooves is they raise heck w/BC. Even the super long Barnes lrx are pretty unimpressive in that area.
