Intriguing chamberings

I sure love the way #1's look. Never got to shoot one but they are beautiful.

I love the way they look and shooting them is a real treat. There is just something about them. They also carry so nice. A 7x57 in a Ruger #1 would be quite the rifle. A 24" barrel would yield good results with that cartridge


 
You set up that picture perfectly, David. Lovely rifle. And I agree about your recommendation in chambering--a great cartridge.

Funnily enough, I've only worked up loads in a couple of #1 rifles. Either produced what I considered to be acceptable groups.
 
I have a 1A in 280 but nowhere as cool as a 275 Rigby

Dang.. that would be a sweet deal Dewey.. a lot of history with that cartridge.
