QuickLoad says near max pressure starting at 5.7

A quick glance fails to show lead bullets in the weight you requested, Rodger. Here is a projection with the Hornady 185 grain SWC, however.

Code:
Cartridge : .45 Auto +P (ACP) (SAAMI)
Bullet : .451, 185, Hornady SWC TAR 45137
Useable Case Capaci: 19.091 grain H2O = 1.240 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 1.275 inch = 32.39 mm
Barrel Length : 5.0 inch = 127.0 mm
Powder : Accurate Solo 1000

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 1.0% of nominal charge.

Thanks DrMike,
For the looks of the prediction I'm with you about the data.
That looks a little hot to me for my use. I'm only looking for 750fps-800fps. That looks more like the old Winchester .45 magnum pistol velocities.

Thanks everyone for your help I settled on a starting load of 4grs and a match load of 4.2grs under the ZERO 185gr LSWCHP. I might use the same powder charge for the 185gr Nosler JHP which is also a very accurate pistol bullet.

Let us know how it shoots
Here you go some pictures of a couple of targets shot at 25yds. First target is 10 shots fired in two 5 shot strings in 20 seconds the second target is ten shots rested from 25yds. I adjusted the windage and then shot the two 5 shot strings.

Given the conditions you imposed on yourself, these are a couple of fine targets, Rodger.👍

Thanks DrMike, but to be honest I need to improve the off hand target since I shoot in hand gun matches and I'm trying to prepare to shoot in the National Bullseye competitions at Camp Perry next month.
That off hand target would be acceptable for the rapid fire phase which is two 5 shot strings, 10 seconds for each 5 shot string.

Rodger , this is the combo I shot bullseye with too solo1000 with a 185 cast lead bullet .it's been awhile since I've shoot it , so I had to look . I was down to 3.7 grains of solo1000 . I shot best at 4.0 grains .

Thanks for the info Jim, With my set up the 4.2gr load is still a little light so I will increase it a few tenths till I get full reliable function. Though this load shoots good it's still a tad lite for my liking and my recoil spring is as lite as I can go for proper feed and lock up.
