Can someone get me in the ball park for 200 gr E-tips in a 338-06 AI

I have a couple hundred to play with.

Thanks

Not in the data base. 338-06, and 338-08 AI, but not 338-06 AI.

Matching Maximum Pressure: 63250 psi, or 436 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 100 %

C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.

If you have a particular propellant in mind, we can finesse the data.

FWIW, I was told by my gunsmith when he built my 280AI that the parent cartridge 280 Remington max loads data is the starting load data for the 280AI.
This is for reference only but I would think it would be similar for the 338-06/338-06AI.
The 200 gr E Tip shot under .5 MOA in my 338 RUM and recovered bullets from the water jugs was impressive.

Not QL, but my 338-06 Ackley works best with H4350 & 200/210s. With slow pour & tapping the case 66 grs will just fit in my brass. It's compressed a lot, but with no bad pressure sign. I'm getting 3000 fps from a 25" barrel. Speer 200s, 210 Partitions, 200 Ballistic Tips & the 200 CT Ballistic Tips have all been similar with OAL the only change. Sub 1" groups @100 yds is normal with a 5x scope. Reduced by 10%, so a start load of 60 grs., should be fine. Maybe 58 or 59gr. would be safer with the E-tips per Nosler's warning?

Big Game also works almost as well @ 65gr max. for 3000fps. Reduced by 10% is 59 gr. I used Nosler's 325 WSM data for the starting charge & with the 200s charge weights/velocity/pressure seemed very similar to Nosler's results with the WSM. Less bulky than H4350, this may be a better choice if the E-tips are much longer than the Speers or Partitions.

Just ran a quick series with N150 which maxed at 60 gr. & 2932fps with so-so accuracy. N160 may be the next test.

The older (1990s era) WW brass holds 72.6 gr of H20 to the top of the neck after 2 firings. My chamber is short throated for 210 Partitions seated to the base of the neck, so my stuff is likely different than your stuff.

Thanks. Loaded some 200 AB with a good load of RL-15. The Encore action allows the barrel to be 27 inches, thus getting the most for the powder.

Accuracy was 1 - 1 1/2. Sighted in 2 inches high at 100 yds.

Velocity was 2815. Think I am going to back off 2 grs. Aiming for 2750 ish for velocity

Mounted the scope with quick release rings, can break down the Encore and then remove the scope for summer backpacking....them pesky bears show up in the cascades around the berries.
