    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

That's pretty good, the trajectory is very close to my 140 gr Accubond at 2732 fps. Even at 500 yards, they are still well-matched. When I use the 100 Hornady 129 gr SP's I have to fireform my new Lapua brass I might have to get some Staball 6.5 and see if my rifle likes that combination too. I...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

Are you shooting the poor man's partitions? The 129 gr Hornady SP's? I have 100 of those, I was planning to hunt with them, but since I got onto the 140 gr Accubonds I'm thinking I will use those up with some AA3100 and N160 powder I have to fireform 100 fresh Lapua cases I have. I'm just going...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

It sounds like you're getting close with that 45 gr load. Somewhere in that neighborhood with Staball 6.5 should produce a nice accurate load that will kill like the plague and not accelerate throat erosion after thousands of rounds ensuring a good, long barrel life! I have a bunch of rounds...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

That other handloaders on this forum who have more experience than me have indicated that Accubond's tend to like a .050" jump to the lands. My testing has proved that to be true in my rifle as well.

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

I always say a prayer on the way to the gun club and ask God to bless me with a happy and safe trip! Bad range days SUCK! I remember one day I went out to the desert to test some ammo I had spent a lot of time loading and it ended up being so windy that day. Man I was PISSED! I've learned since...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

It's the first thing I measure when starting a load with new bullets. These 140 gr Accubonds are on-the-lands at 3.150" in my rifle. At 3.100" I'm .050" off the lands and getting the results I want, which correlates nicely with the expert advice I have received from other more-seasoned...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

That sounds like a good powder, it's on the short list of powders I will test next whenever I get around to tweaking this load further. If this next range trip proves consistent velocity and sub-MOA 5-shot groups I'll be sticking with it for this year's deer season.

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

I finally got another round of testing in today. I decided to take the best performing powder charge from last session - 48.0 gr H4831SC - and experiment with some longer jumps to the lands. Those of you who said Accubonds like a .050" jump were right on the money. I had 3 COAL's at this charge...

    .223 Coyote Load?

I read a few pages! I can see where a .223 would be enough to kill an elk with the right bullet at close range, but you better make the first shot count. Elk can run very far if they aren't perfectly hit on the first shot, even with larger more powerful cartridges that are normally considered...

    .223 Coyote Load?

That's awesome to hear that it is effective on big game. My daughter is 14 now and that might be a good round to start her on for deer hunting, maybe she could shoot a doe during the youth hunt or something. I do have a 6.5x55SE and I was planning to work up a mild load with 100 or 125 gr...

    .223 Coyote Load?

Thanks Ernie! I even have the Remington 7.5 primers on-hand so all I need are the bullets. Should be quite close to the MK262 rounds (I think that's what they called them). That's a cool pistol, it reminds me of a certain golf course scene in Matt Bracken's book "Foreign Enemies and Traitors"...

    .223 Coyote Load?

Sure, I would appreciate it! I was thinking a heavier bullet, like the 60 grain Nosler BT Varmint would shoot really well from my 1:7" twist barrel. When I was testing various factory match ammo in this rifle it liked the Black Hills 77 grain Match Hollow Point ammo the best out of what I tried...

    .223 Coyote Load?

I had previously worked up a decent load with 55 grain Nosler Varmint Ballistic Tips and 25 gr of Varget for hunting coyotes out to 250 yds. I still have a lot of Varget but I either need to pickup more of the Noslers or try something else. I was going to tinker around with seating depths to see...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

My friend at church was just telling me how one year he traded a Glock and some levergun for a brand new Browning BAR MK II Safari in 30-06. He said he gave it to his wife for Sweetest Day lol! I guess she didn't like it so he sold it to a gun store. He said he already had one like it in 7mm Rem...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

That's interesting, I guess if I can get RL19 or RL22 I'll be happy to try those out. When I took this rifle on an Arizona bull elk hunt in unit 4A in 2009 I wanted to try RL22 with some 160 grain Woodleigh's Weldcore .264" bullets I had got. I ended up using Viht N160 and I got good accuracy...
