    The dreaded third shot

Shoot the round over again and compare, you may be surprised. Personally, I shoot 5 and then 10 rd. groups when developing loads and overlay the targets to see how they are pro/digressing. If everything is sound mechanically with the rifle and scope you will find a consistent sweet spot. Best...

    hydro dip

Thanks again Scotty, sure, I've even seen truck wheels hydro-dipped!!!! Depending on who you use , I think pricing for most places runs about $ 125- $200. There may be a little extra $$ in there for the transfer print as well. IIRC, mine was a little under $200. Best,

    Headspace Problem???

If I might offer up another thought to consider it would be make your own comparator gauges from cases fired in your chamber. The OAL to the ogive of the bullet will measure a little differently between the two cases because the Hornady case is unfired and not headspaced to your chamber and...

    Headspace Problem???

One method to determine your chambers headspace using fired cases from your rifle is by marking the shoulder and neck of the case with a black marker and continuing to screw the FL sizing die down, resizing the case until the bolt will just close snugly or what's considered a slight crush fit...

    Cow tag, in the timber...

Appreciate that and agreed, a head shot isn't necessarily the best shot. I felt trying to thread a bullet through all the branches and trying to hit the vitals correctly without putting a bullet through the grass bag on this animal would be nigh on impossible. That could end up being a helluva...
