Load is 46.5 H4350 for 2,700. Another equally good load is 41.5 - 42.0 of Varget.
I WISH my rifle would group the 150 Partition... I'd look no further. The Partition is my favorite bullet, followed by the Accubond (though I call them Non-Accu-Bond's as they generally don't shoot as well as...
Actually I have a few "hero shots" but prefer not to post them. A self timer is a wonderful invention
The bull was around 60-70 yards away with his butt towards me. I waited for him to turn and shot him in the ribs. The bullet angled forward and was under the offside scapula. It...
No argument from me. I'll be toting a 7-08 this year for elk, but will be using 150 NBT's.
Personally, I don't trust expanding mono's all that much and also think they should start above 3K.
Of your two, I'd go NAB and not look back.
I've taken 3 elk with the 165 NAB from my 308. They work...
Undoubtedly, the LRAB is a fine bullet... but it doesn't appear to be as stoutly constructed as the AB.
More choices are always good, especially from a great Co. like Nosler.
When I have some free time I'll give Bend a jingle and beg for a 150 NAB :)
Aside, I just picked up some 150 ABLR's for the 7-08. I can seat bullets out to 2.820" in my magazine (Kimber Montana) and the ABLR's touch the lands at 2.965", so a jump of .145"... not as bad as I thought it may be...
I really do believe there's a market for a 7mm / 150 NAB... the LRAB really is a different animal, good bullet though it may be. I believe for the average hunter, the "standard" Accubond is hard to beat. I've used the 165 NAB in 30 cal to take a number of elk. That bullet really hangs tough. Of...
My 7mm-08 loves 150 NBT, and I'd sure like a matching 150 Accubond.
I know a 140 is available, but my 7mm-08 won't abide them (have had several 7mm-08's and none loved 140's... go figure). This rifle won't group either 140 or 150 Partitions either.
I also know the new LR NAB is available in...
For the good people at Nosler:
6pt bull I shot on the Montana opener this year:
180 NP recovered from the bull... started at 2,985 fps, hit bull at 200 yards... penetrated about three feet of elk cross-wise and was found under the off shoulder against the skin. Did I mention I love Nosler...
