Still not a lot of info out there on the new rifle models. I wonder how the Patriot compares to the more expensive TGR (outside of the CM vs SS barrel). Weight? Twists? Rifle Basix trigger? Pac-Nor barrel? B&C stock? Bedding?
Same here. I like how they have ditched CM for SS for the barrels. I'm looking forward to the specs on this rifle; specifically the twist rates and components. The pricing is a little more than a Sako Finnlight, but I suspect this will be a better overall package.
You're not kidding. I was at a LGS yesterday checking out various Remington 700 5R's. The fit and finish of the action, trigger, and stock fitment of each rifle was a travesty compared to the TGR. I know most Rem 5R's shoot extremely well (I had an LTR that did), but at the $1350+ price tag...
Even if it resembles a Howa, who cares? That's implying there is something wrong with a Howa which is complete nonsense. Most folks who chime in on this have little to no experience with actions or shooting.
The internet is full of folks who express their "expert" opinions about things...
A quick (and relatively light) pinch of the forend and barrel will cause the barrel to contact the stock.
I'm not fond of flexible stocks, but this one hasn't affected accuracy in the few times that I've shot it. My 5 and 10 shot groups come in at just a hair under an inch, so it shoots...
Has anyone noticed any forend flex on their TGR; specifically with a magnum barrel contour? I was under the impression that the TGR uses a full length chassis, but mine does not.
Thanks!
