I'm considering this caliber for my next build. I know most are going with a short action. Make sense to build on a long action to take advantage of more room with the longer bullets?

Looking at a 1:7 barrel for longer, heavier bullets. 75gr AMAX, or some of the new 90gr+ pills. I haven't decided if I want to go this route. Just thinking out loud.

Will do. I went with the SS barrel. I've been through break-in and fire formed 80 rounds. Started development yesterday with 100gr TTSXs and she really like them with Hybrid 100v. But after discussion over on that thread I didn't realize it was temperature sensitive. I'm going to retest...

I'll be following this discussion. Shot some test groups with .25-06AI this morning to find a powder to start load development. H4831, H4350, H1000, Hybrid 100v, RL22. The best group of them all was Hybrid 100v, 1" group at 200yds and 85 degrees. I was about to ask the temperature question...
